CYC Bridges

CYC Bridges works with SEND, vulnerable and at-risk children, offering a tailor-made ten-week singing programme designed to nurture self-belief, build confidence, and open the door to the joy of music. Sessions are small, supportive and carefully shaped around each child's individual needs — using movement, visual cues, story maps and Makaton to make singing truly accessible. Every child is given space to develop their voice, explore their emotions through music, and discover that singing is for them.

Each project begins with a planning session alongside the school's SENCO and Music Lead, ensuring a thorough understanding of every participant's needs and clear safeguarding structures. Sessions 2–9 involve two 30-minute vocal workshops per visit, with the option of an additional whole-school Singing Club. The programme concludes with an evaluation session and the opportunity for pupils to create a recording of their work — a tangible, shareable achievement they can be proud of.Alongside the work with pupils, CYC Bridges includes in-school CPD and mentoring for the school's music lead, helping to build lasting capacity for singing beyond the life of the project.
